Nervous? I am sure but DON’T Be! We start preseason this month and I am sure that the girls are nervous! That is ok remember that preseason are just special practices, so treat them like that. Come find out what you need to continue to work on and learn more about how meets work. It is all going to be fine as we continue to prepare and improve for the 2009 season. You are all going to do great, keep up the hard work.

Preseason – What to wear?

Preseason is like a special practice. Instead of doing the routines in groups you will get to have the floor by yourself! We treat preseason like a special practice so dress like it is a practice. No competition Leos should be worn until Regular season, when everyone has them. So don’t worry come and enjoy.

Monday & Thursday Clinics

Monday Night Clinics (7:45 – 8:30) and Thursday Clinics (4:30 – 5:30) are a great way to get some extra attention on specific skills. Clinics cost $8 per participant. With a smaller group ratio this extra time with a coach can really help your improvement.

In order to attend the Monday and Thursday clinics you must sign up and pay at the front desk more than 24 hrs before the clinic. Clinics fill fast so sign up early! You can NOT just stay for a clinic you have not signed up for. There are limited spaces so sign up in advance. To sign up, see or call the front desk at MDW.

Competition Fees and Expenses

April 10 – League Fee Due ($90). The league fee covers participation in 4 regular season meets, Regionals and State if qualified for as well as part of our coaches’ pay for working meets.

May 2 – Final Date for all fees to be paid. This is the final deadline for all the above fees to be paid by if the original due dates were missed. A gymnast cannot start regular season competition until she has a competition Leo and the Parent Volunteer Fund and league fee has been paid.

Judging 101

Hey our Judging 101 class has been rescheduled! We will hold that on April 16^th here at MDW! This is a great chance for you to learn and understand more how your daughter’s routines are scores! Amy Sobolik-Brown who is one of our coaches and a HS and CARA Judge will be doing the training. Those that have attended in the past have found it very informative and helpful for the season. The class is free and we encourage everyone to attend!

Compulsories are from 5:45 – 7:00 Optionals from 7:00 – 9:00

The class is intended for parents but many gymnasts have found it helpful as well.

AIPS Board Mtg

We have an AIPS Board Mtg on April 9^th at MDW from 5:45 – 7:00 as always all are welcome.

Tue Open Gym

We have a great Open Gym time that you might want to come and check out. Tuesdays from 4:30 – 5:30! The cost is $4 per drop in and a lot of fun to come and work on things with your friends. Beth is here and eager to help with a question about routines or a spot.
