We’re having some fun now! We have a great group of girls that are excited about gymnastics and working hard to be their best, that is exciting and makes for a great time to be in the gym. We have started working on sequences of the new routines and putting things in place to be ready for competition. It is just around the corner and there is lots of work to be done. Make sure to have the parents meeting on your calendar and get to some of these open gyms and clinics. I am so proud of the girls the work and the fun they are having doing it. Keep it up ladies your awesome!
OK, I am really sorry to do this to you but I really don’t know what I was thinking! When I was asked to put a price on clinics I said $5, that is what they have always been right! Well I should have stopped to think because that IS the price they have always been but that price was set in 1998 or something! Those clinics are priced less than coming to practice! So I have to change the cost! SORRY. Starting in March all Clinics will be $8 per visit, still a GREAT deal. We are starting optional Clinics on Thursdays from 4:30 – 5:30 and they will start at the $8 price. If you have been taking any of the clinics consider the great price your reward for being a loyal and early customer. I am sure that you agree that the time in a smaller group to focus on specific skills is well worth $8 a clinic so we hope that you will continue to participate. And I apologize for being stuck in the 90’s!
Monday & Thursday Clinics
Monday Night Clinics (7:45 – 8:30) and Thursday Clinics (4:30 – 5:30) are a great way to get some extra attention on specific skills. Clinics cost $8 per participant. With a smaller group ratio this extra time with a coach can really help your improvement.

If you need a new competition Leo for this season (they are the same as last year) you must place your order by PAYING for the leo by Feb 12th. I will place the order for new leos on Feb 13th. If the Competition Leo you had last season doesn’t fit anymore the team will buy it from you for $20 to sell to another team member who wants a used Leo. You can also sell it on your own at a price of your choosing. Everyone needing a new Leo must have the order placed with payment ($75) no later than Feb 12th. All the girls will be sized at practice so you do not need to worry what size leo your daughter wears.
Order Forms Due Feb 5th
Order will be delivered on February 12th and ready for pick up at the end of practice that evening (7:30pm).
ALL ORDERS MUST BE PICKED UP FEB 12th.
This is a frozen product and we can not store items that are not picked up on Feb 12th.
We make $4 for each Butter Braid sold. $3 of that will be credited to your account and $1 will go to the team.
ALL ORDERS MUST BE PICKED UP FEB 12th.
Competition Fees and Expenses
Here are the fees and the due dates for your calendar and financial planning.
COMPETITION FEES:
February 12 – Team Leotard Order due ($75 new). We have the same competition Leo as last season so please have your daughter try it on to see if it fits.
March 12 – Parent Volunteer Fund Deposit ($50) to be held in deposit against 6 hour of volunteer work during the course of the season.
March 12 – Mandatory Parents Meeting and Team Exhibition. This is the night we have our yearly parents meeting distribute the new team handbook and go over the details of the upcoming season. It is held at Overland HS during our normal practice time and at least one parent for each gymnast is asked to attend. All gymnasts on team will work out at Overland this evening and then perform a short exhibition following the parents meeting. Please place this date on your calendar now so that you will be able to attend.
April 10 – League Fee Due ($90). The league fee covers participation in 4 regular season meets, Regionals and State if qualified for as well as part of our coaches’ pay for working meets.
May 2 – Final Date for all fees to be paid. This is the final deadline for all the above fees to be paid by if the original due dates were missed. A gymnast cannot start regular season competition until she has a competition Leo and the Parent Volunteer Fund and league fee has been paid.
Payments & Switching Nights
As a reminder we wanted to post our payment and switching night policies.
Payment Policy
Team and Pre-Team payments are due on the first of each month. If payments are not made by the 15th of the month a $5 late fee will automatically be posted to your account. If payment has not been received by the 20th of the month your daughter may not be able to participate in practice and competition (for Team) until your account is brought current.
Team and Pre-Team payments can be made in person at Meadowood’s front desk or by calling them at (303) 326-8300. If you would like to make on-line payments please contact Marlene Nothstine at mnothsti@auroragov.org.
Switching Nights and Scheduling Make-Ups
Once you have communicated the nights your daughter(s) will attend practice you cannot switch your nights of practice unless you receive permission from Alan Herron at aherron@auroragov.org. Do not communicate your wish to change nights to the front desk. We schedule coaches based on the nights the gymnastics office has on file. If you switch nights it can cause issues with the coach to gymnast ratio.
To schedule a make-up for a missed practice you can come on another day that your class is offered. You do not need to notify us in advance however, if you do we believe in positive messaging. If you do not hear back from us it is okay to make up a missed practice. Missed practices are not subject to a prorated rate. You have one month from the time a practice is missed to make it up. Any practice not made up within the month time frame will be forfeited.
Thank you and please let Alan or Marlene know if you have any questions or concerns.
We have a great Open Gym time that you might want to come and check out. Tuesdays from 4:30 – 5:30! The cost is $4 per drop in and a lot of fun to come and work on things with your friends. Beth is here and eager to help with a question about routines or a spot on a skill. Come try Tuesday Open Gym!
We are updating our e-mail distribution list for the team. If you are interested in getting updates and e-newsletters please get on our list. Please send us and e-mail to be added to our list!
We will spend the next few months teaching and working on the routines for competition. Since we introduce a small portion each week it is VERY important that you make every effort to be at practice each week. We do review but each week we introduce a new portion of the routine and spend quite a bit of time on it so the girls can do it correctly. In order to really get full instruction on the entire routine you don’t want to miss a week! If you want to add a night of practice this is a great time! Most girls come 2 nights a week and the extra workouts REALLY help the girls’ progress.
